Don’t be a Home Business Opportunity Hopper
Some people ‘hop’ from one home based business opportunity to another and another, then another and so on. I call these folks opportunity hoppers. They often go after that ‘next big thing’ at the drop of a hat. The problem with this approach is that it lacks focus.
Hopping from one thing to the next will make it difficult for you focus and find direction. If you are going off in different directions every few months, how will you find direction in your home based business? Business success, whether it’s a home based business or other, only comes after you can dedicate your efforts to it over a period of time.
Part of the problem is staying motivated. Often, at the very beginning of something these people are very excited and motivated. However, as weeks turn into months and the novelty wears off, that motivation can tend to slip. That motivation is often deflated by little failures and rejections, so these people look to ‘greener pastures’ elsewhere.
There are legitimate reasons to move from one thing to the next, but there should a solid reason behind it (such as the company going out of business). If your goal is to be successful in your home business, plan to stick with it and create your own motivation after the ‘newness’ wears off. Start by finding something that you can be passionate about and can see yourself dedicated to perhaps 5 years from now.
Mistakes are one thing but no one can reach their true potential by opportunity hopping. So focus and commit yourself to your home based business and over time, success will find you. Opportunity hopping on the other hand, will keep you looking elsewhere instead of inside you.
